Robert A. Anderson, 86, of Kingston, Ill., died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb.
Born Sept. 22, 1920, in Kingston, he was the son of LeRoy and Leoma (Coleman) Anderson. He married Esther Jacobson on Feb. 4, 1961, at the Methodist church in Genoa.
Robert was a farmer and lifelong resident of Kingston. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and all sports. He was longtime Cubs baseball fan, but eventually went over to the White Sox side as they started on their winning streak in 2005.
Robert is survived by his wife of 45 years, Esther, of Kingston; a daughter, Lori (John) Birkelbach, a granddaughter, Jennifer Birkelbach, and a grandson, Michael Birkelbach, all of Aurora; and a sister, Ruth Johnson of DeKalb.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Russell Anderson.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at Slater-Butala Funeral Home,132 W. Main, Genoa, IL 60135, with the Rev. Michael Mann, pastor of Hinckley United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Mayfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the funeral home.
