FRANCES M. COTNER

1921 - 2011

Frances M. Cotner, 90, of Merritt Island, Fla., formerly of Genoa, Ill., died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at Courtenay Springs Village in Florida.
She was born July 14, 1921, in Genoa, the daughter of Howard and Louise (Fraze) Storm. She married Carl D. Cotner on June 28, 1941, in Genoa.
Frances was a graduate of the Genoa High School. She was a homemaker and helped her husband Carl on the family farm until their retirement. She was a former member of the DeKalb County Farm Bureau, the Ney Grange and the Faith United Methodist Church.
Frances is survived by three sons, David (Peggy) Cotner of Merritt Island, Fla., Gary Cotner of Genoa and Tom (Carole) Cotner of Jerseyville; one daughter, Jacqui (Steve) Ashton of Englewood, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Bergman of Bellevue, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 1987; one grandson, Lee Cotner; and one sister, Phyllis Keating.
Her Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home in Genoa, with Rev. Dr. Daniel Diss officiating. Burial will be at the Genoa Cemetery.
Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home.
