SEAN McMILLAN Obituary
Born Feb. 5, 1973, in Sycamore, the son of Robert A. and Susan Jo (Peterson) McMillan, he was a graduate of the Sycamore High School, class of 1991. Sean was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Desert Storm.
Sean was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing and was always there to help people. He had a big heart and loud laugh.
He is survived by his parents, Robert A. and Susan McMillan of Sycamore; his children, Shaina Marie, Dawlton Garrett and Kaelab Allen McMillan, along with their mother, Debbey, all of Mississippi; one brother, Robert P. McMillan; one sister, Mary Katherine McMillan, both of Sycamore; his life companion, Jessica Wade; his uncle, Jim (Nancy) McMillan; one niece, Kara Marie McMillan; and two cousins, Ryan and Matthew McMillan.
A paraliturgical service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore, with Fr. Frank J. Timar officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Dear Bob, Sue, Family,
I have just learned of of Sean's passing through my mother and sister and read his beautiful obituary. I'm terribly sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you grieve your loss. My mother has expressed to me the fond memories of holding and rocking him in her arms when he was just a baby. Though it's been many years since we've seen you, the memories my family has shared with yours holds a very special place in our hearts.

June 15 2011 Dear Bob and Sue, I was deeply saddened this a.m. when I received word of Sean's passing. Our first born's shared the nursery at sycamore hospital and our friendship began. Tho we've lost touch my heart is close to you right now. I remember the parade we dressed Amie and Sean up as Raggedy Andy and Raggedy Ann. They were so cute.Memories are wonderful things! I remember with such fondness Sean's bright brown eyes and fun ways. Please know at this sorrowful time my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I wish to extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Sean McMillan, especially Bob, Sue, Sean's children, brother, and sister. I myself feel very sad to know of his death. Laurie (Tuggle) Marvin sent word, and then I read the online obituary. I recall with great fondness and vividness rocking Sean in my arms when he was a very young infant. I further remember intermittant baysitting and interfamily visits during the toddler and early childhood period. Don and Sean shared lots of happy hours as childhood companions. Roger and I cherished our family friendship with the McMillans. We appreciated the many kind helps done for us. I will keep Sean and his family in my prayers. "Eternal rest grant unto him, oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and those of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen."

Sean was the kind of person that you couldn't help but like. He was always willing to lend a hand, give a hug and make you laugh.
