DOUGLAS BURSON Obituary

Douglas R. Burson, 66, of Hinckley, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at his home. Born March 16, 1945, in Aurora, the son of Douglas L. and Wilma (Ramer) Burson, Douglas was united in marriage to the former Mrs. Linda Quantz Wick on Oct. 20, 1987, and they spent the next 23 happy years of their lives together.
For 34 years, Mr. Burson was employed by the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier. He was a member of both the National Association of Letter Carriers and the American Motorcyclist Association. Douglas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be missed by all that knew him.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Linda J. Burson of Hinckley; his children, Douglas (Julie) Burson of Yorkville, and Amy Burson of Aurora; his stepdaughter, Sheri (Jim) Campbell of Sheridan; his grandchildren, Dougie and Anna Burson, Gabriella, Michaela and Abbegail Campbell; his sister, Sharon (Ray) Miller of Naperville; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas L. Burson; mother, Wilma Burson Roge; and his stepfather, Paul Roge.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m Saturday, June 4, at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 N. Maple St., Hinckley, with Elder Dennis Ramer officiating. Interment will be private.
Friends can visit from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday, June 4, at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel in Hinckley.
Memorials in Douglas' name can be made to the DeKalb County Hospice, 2727 Sycamore Road Suite 1B, DeKalb, IL 60115.

I was very saddened to read of Doug's passing. He was a very conscientious postal employee and truly an excellent gentleman. It was my pleasure to have known Doug and Linda while we worked at the Naperville post office, as well, as younger Doug at Granger Middle School. May God be with all of you during your time of loss.
