GERALD MATTISON Obituary
Born Sunday, Feb. 28, 1937, in Sycamore, to Gerald R. and Eleaner V. (Lanan) Mattison, he married JoLinda "Jody" Lee on Oct. 5, 1962, in Sycamore.
Gerald was a member of First Baptist Church, Sycamore. He built two houses in his lifetime. He will be remembered for how he loved to tinker with things, and rebuild lawnmowers and skid loaders, his enjoyment of doing puzzles and woodworking, and his love for his family and animals.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Jody; two children, Mark (Dawn) Mattison of DeKalb and Cassie (Troy) Oltman of Cortland; five grandchildren, Scottie, Seaver, Leah, Colin and Jade; three sisters, Janet Batorski, Barb (Gerry) Siebens and Bev Webster; and many nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Judy Astling.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, at First Baptist Church, 530 W. State St., Sycamore, IL 60178. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, at the church. Interment will be completed at a later date at Elmwood Cemetery, Sycamore.
Memorial Contributions can be made to "The Family of Gerald James Mattison" for a fund to be established at a later date.
