DeKALB – Margie Ann Tiffany died Dec. 6, 2012 at DeKalb Co. Rehab and Nursing Center in DeKalb.|
She was the only child of Ralph and Marie (Smith) Tiffany. She attended Cornell School and received her bachelor's degree from Illinois State at Normal in 1944 and her master's of education from the University of Illinois in 1960. She was also a student of Northern Illinois University where she continued her education.
She taught business education classes in Chebanse from 1944 to 1947 before coming to Genoa, where she taught from 1947 until her retirement in 1979. She enjoyed traveling, communicating with her many friends and former students and keeping up with the lives of her honorary great grandchildren and many cousins.
She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
After retiring, she lived in Genoa until moving to DeKalb in 2005.
Survivors include numerous cousins and dear friends Don and Nayna Peterson and their family – Deanna (Brian) Bazan and Bill (Liz) Peterson. She was the honorary great-grandmother of Hannah and Matthew Bazan, and Ashley and Cody Peterson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Faith United Methodist Church, 325 S. Stott St., Genoa, with the Rev. Dr. Daniel Diss officiating. A private burial will take place at the Cornell Cemetery in Cornell, Ill.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10 to 11 am. at the church.
