MUNCIE, Ind. – Peggy Sue Hicks, 55, of Muncie, Ind., formerly of Lafayette, Ind., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Brookside Haven, Muncie.|
She was born on Feb. 18, 1958, at Home Hospital in Lafayette, to the late Richard Hicks and Helen (Smith) Hicks Brittain.
In 1977, Peggy graduated from Lincoln School.
Peggy worked for Abilities Services as a workshop employee for more than 20 years. She previously worked for Wabash Center.
She was a member of Christ Memorial Temple in Lafayette and attended Church of Faith in Frankfort, Ind. Peggy enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics where she was involved with running and basketball.
Peggy is survived by her sisters, Deborah Dorf (Kenneth) of DeKalb and Cynthia Dilbeck (Sonya Smith) of Phoenix, Ariz. Also surviving are nieces, Maria Brown of Indianapolis, Kendra Bendak (Tom), Karissa Dorf and Kyle Dorf (Melanie), all of Oswego; great-nieces, Addyson and McKenna Bendak; and great-nephew, Bennett Dorf.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Howard and Laura Smith.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Christ Memorial Temple, 3801 E. Union St., Lafayette, with Pastor James Jones and the Rev. Kenneth Dorf officiating. Interment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette, Ind. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Memorial Temple.
