SYCAMORE – Corey Lee Baker, 28, of Sycamore, Ill., died Monday, March 12, 2012, in Sycamore.|
Born Jan. 18, 1984, in Sycamore, the son of Thomas L. and Kimberlee (Kosmel) Baker, he was a 2003 graduate of Burlington High School.
Corey enjoyed fast riding and working on dirt bikes and motorcycles. He loved the country, his animals, but most of all, he liked to go fishing with his son. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his son, Xavier Lee Baker; mother, Kimberlee (Randall) Ruffner; one brother, Darin J. Baker; maternal grandparents, Judith (Ronald) Wagner and Hugo (Winnie) Kosmel; paternal grandparents, Everett (DonnaBell) Baker; aunts and uncles, Tom (Caroline) Kosmel, Everett (Pam) Baker, Larry Baker, Mary (John) Houghtby, Jean (David) Barnes and Judy (Jim); and cousins, Kyle, Kasey, Marci, Keith, Sarah, Jill, John, Donna, Jason and Matthew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Baker.
A visitation will be held from noon-3 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at the local family-owned and -operated Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. with Judy Bergeson, diaconal minister, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.
