Daisette A. McGrath Obituary
Daisette A. McGrath

Born: November 19, 1944; in Chicago, IL

Died: June 28, 2018; in Sycamore, IL

Daisette A. McGrath, 73, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018, in her home in Sycamore, IL.

She was born November 19, 1944, to Matthew J. and Daisy (Kozlowski) Gobreski in Chicago. Daisette was proud of growing up on the south side of Chicago and treasured the years spent with her Sycamore family.

After graduating from Northern Illinois University, Daisette taught school in North Lake and DeKalb before starting her 24-year career teaching English at Hinckley-Big Rock High School. "Simplicity" became her guiding word. She was inspired by the words of Emerson, Thoreau and William Wordsworth, who stated "the world is too much with us." After her retirement in 2000, Daisette spent countless hours volunteering at the Kishwaukee Hospital gift shop.

Daisette is survived by her sisters, Marilyn (William Hickey) McManus, Nancy (James) Trandel and Lucy (Timothy) Wolkober; as well as several nieces and nephews, Scott (Patrice), Burt (Jeannie), Jamie (Brian), Matthew (Amanda), Holly (Rich), Kevin and Bridget. Great aunt of 11.

Predeceased by her parents; and sister, Deborah K. Gobreski.

A Celebration of Life memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Quiram Sycamore Chapel, 1243 Somonauk St., Sycamore, IL.
