ELLA YOECKEL Obituary

Ella Elizabeth (Senneff) Yoeckel, 77, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Ash Flat (Ark.) Nursing & Rehab Center.
Born Sept. 27, 1933, in Sterling, Ill., to Fredrick and Emma Behler (Martin) Senneff, she married Edward C. Yoeckel on July 10, 1954, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sterling. They made their home in the Sterling-Rock Falls area until moving first to Big Rock, then to Plano; they later moved to Somonauk, where they lived for the past 42 years. She and Ed were preparing to make their home in Hardy, Ark.
Ella spent many years as a homemaker, avid gardener and working at Miller's Foods in Somonauk until she retired.
Ella was very active in two Lutheran churches, St. John's in Somonauk and Our Savior's in Sandwich. She enjoyed serving, sewing and sharing her time with those from both churches. She also participated in visiting times with the shut-ins at Lutheran nursing homes and the veterans' home in Mendota. She enjoyed her many friends in her neighborhood, who always found her ready and willing to help when called upon. She loved family get-togethers and never missed an opportunity of game playing.
Surviving are her husband, Edward; daughters, Ann (Kevin) Dienst of Hardy, Ark., and Brenda (Edward) Thieman of Centerville, Ohio; sons, John (Betty) of Sandwich and Perry of Largo, Fla.; grandchildren, Kal (Sara) Dienst, Jennifer (Charles Budd) Hanson, Adam and Ben Thieman, Steven (Michele Mach) Anderson, David (Vickie) Anderson and Elissa (Howard) Belcher; great-grandchildren, Archer and Annestyn Dienst, Raven Hanson, Arlo and Aleena Budd, Camon Anderson, Mario Palombo, Josh and Jacob Vodden and Kyle and Rebecca Belcher; nephew, Greg Shirley of Sandwich; and her special son, George (Carlene) Estrada and son, Christopher, of Sycamore.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arlo (Beulah) Senneff; sister, Millie Shirley; nephew, Gary Shirley; and two brothers-in-law.
Funeral services and interment were held Oct. 9, at Heath Funeral Home, in Hardy, Ark.
A local memorial service will be held Nov. 6 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Somonauk; family visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m.
The family asks that memorials be directed to Open Door Rehabilitation, Sandwich.
