DeKALB – Erazm "Eric" Behr, 56, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, after a brief but serious illness.|
Eric was a research associate in the Math Department at Northern Illinois University. He held a master's degree from Warsaw University and a doctorate from the University of California, San Diego, both in mathematics.
Eric was a man of many talents and interests. He was an avid photographer and ham radio operator. He also enjoyed building and playing with electronics and he loved jazz music. He was always learning and he had deep knowledge of a variety of subjects.
A gentle and kind person, Eric leaves behind many grieving friends and his heartbroken family: sons Peter and Stefan Behr; sister, Barbara Cortzen of Chicago; brother, Marek Behr of Belgium; several cousins and an aunt of Poland; and his best friends Kitty Holland and William M. Black, both of DeKalb.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb. Cremation is by Anderson Funeral Home Crematory. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at Anderson Funeral Home.
