Frances E. Voreis, age 96, of Somonauk, IL passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich, IL.

She was born on July 11, 1921 in Waterman, IL the daughter of John and Christina (Johnson) Darling. Frances was a 1939 graduate of DeKalb High School in DeKalb, IL.

She was united in marriage on March 5, 1944 at the DeKalb Methodist Church to Dwayne C. "Buck" Voreis and spent the next 47 years together until his passing on November 4, 1991. She and Buck raised their family on their farm in rural Hinckley. Frances was for over 50 years a very active member of the St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Hinckley, IL and served on its church council. She served during the 1960's as the president of the University of Illinois Mothers Association of DeKalb County. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Charles (Mary Ann) Voreis of Utica, IL, Richard (Marie) Voreis of Prior Lake, MN, and Diane Voreis of Somonauk, IL; her grandchildren, Tim (Chrissy) Voreis, Jeff (Suzanne) Voreis, Aaron (Robin) Voreis, Adam (Marie) Voreis, and Angela Voreis; her eight great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Christina Darling; her husband, Dwayne Voreis; her brother, Floyd (Rose) Darling; and her sister, Helen (Walter) Finette.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 324 W. McKinley Ave., Hinckley, IL with Pastor Charlene Hinckley officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Mound Cemetery in Somonauk, IL. Friends may visit from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 141 N. Maple St., Hinckley, IL.
