Jeffrey Paul Seyller, 60, Genoa, passed away peacefully Monday, February 12, 2018 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jeff was born September 13, 1957 to Lloyd and Doris Seyller, Hampshire.
He is survived by his parents of Genoa; seven siblings, Rodney (Mary) Seyller, Paris, TN, Gary (Karen) Seyller, Springville, TN, Todd (Lin) Seyller, Belvidere, Dale (Susan) Seyller, Poplar Grove, Leann (Gregg) Dunlap, Kingston, Linda (Andrew) Dolder, Shabbona and Paul Seyller, Belvidere; and numerous nieces and nephews who adored him.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jacob in 2005.
Jeff graduated from Hampshire High School in 1975 where he enjoyed playing sports especially basketball. He coached his nephew, Matthew's Park District team in Genoa along with other teams and assisted the high school team under Coach Simmons. He loved to fish and looked forward to his yearly fishing trips with his brothers and friends. He was employed by Corrugated Box in Elgin for many years and most recently Sycamore Container until his illness prevented him from working. He enjoyed spending time with family, cooking on the "barbie", playing horseshoes, watching John Wayne movies and playing around with his nieces and nephews who lovingly called him "Uncle Buck". Jeff was a member of St. Catherine of Genoa Church. He served on the Parish Council, was an usher, and recently joined the Knights of Columbus.
His visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:30 PM at St. Catherine of Genoa Church, 340 S. Stott St., Genoa, IL. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM. His funeral mass will be on Friday, Feb. 16th at 2:00 PM at the St. Catherine of Genoa Church, with Fr. Francis Wawryszuk officiating. Burial will be at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Hampshire.

My condolences to the family and many friends of Jeff. I got to know Jeff playing horse shoes when he joined my team at the Hampshire VFW. Soon after, my team was loaded with Seyllers. Those were fun times. R.I.P. Jeff.

My heart is filled with much sadness. I have many fond memories of Jeff from years past. When reading about his life, I could envision how he enjoyed his family and the passion he had for doing the activities he loved! My deepest condolences to the family.
