JOHN ADKINSON Obituary
John worked at the Corrections Corporation of America in Florence. Before moving to Arizona, John was the owner/operator of Classic Limousine in DeKalb. John enjoyed NASCAR racing and riding in the desert with his dogs, Cheyenne and Coco.
John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sherry; a son, Dwight (Leah); three grandchildren, Kesley, Tyler and Carter, all of Florence; his parents, William and Sheila Adkinson of Sycamore; two brothers, the Rev. Rodger W. Adkinson of Willow Springs, Mo., and Douglas W. Adkinson of DeKalb; two sisters, Kathy Hartness of DeKalb and Janice Bolan of Morehead, Ky.; his mother- and father-in-law, Harold and Joan Gavin of Sandwich; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Otis and Katie Adkinson and Orville and Bernice Johnson.
Services were entrusted to Heritage Florence Funeral Home.
