CADIZ, Kentucky – Kent L. Conners, 75, of Cadiz, Kentucky, a native of Chicago, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. |
Mr. Conners graduated from Northern Illinois University with a master's degree in education and went on to teach industrial arts, driver's education and history for 25 years and retired from Hampshire High School in Hampshire.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Walker Conners of Cadiz; six children and spouses, Andrew James and Michele Conners of King Of Prussia, Pennsylvania, Matthew Loren and Juliet Conners of Las Vegas, Kristine Georgeanne Conners of Las Vegas, James and JoEllen Murphree of Georgetown, Kentucky, Casey Murphree of Princeton, Indiana and Elizabeth Batsel of Madisonville, Kentucky; six grandchildren; one niece, Lori Conners Clay; and one nephew, Brady Conners.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Conners; mother, Mary Lorene Hayes Conners; wife, Joan Victoria Conners; and one brother, James K. Conners.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home Inc., in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, until the funeral time at 11 a.m. at Ponderosa Baptist Church, Cadiz, with the Revs. John Mitchell and Norman Cotton officiating.
