LEONA TIETJEN Obituary

Leona L. Tietjen, 73, of Naperville, formerly of Freeport, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011, in Alden Estates of Naperville. She was born Jan. 10, 1938, in Freeport, the daughter of Charles and Mabel (Jacobs) Huber.
Leona was a graduate of Freeport High School. She married Lester Tietjen on July 4, 1959, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Freeport; they were prior residents of Princeville, Richmond Calif., Deltona, Fla., and DeKalb. Leona was employed as a medical secretary and clinic office manager.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Lester; daughter, Lisa (William) Diggins of Crest Hill; son, Patrick (Rebecca) Tietjen of Naperville; grandsons, Will and Alex Diggins and Jacob and Benjamin Tietjen; brother, Roger Huber of Kirkland; two sisters, Phyllis Wahler of Richardson, Texas and Marcia (Don) Sorn of Monroe, Wis.; her husband's sisters, Mary Ann (Don) Merrill of Sterling and Helen (Charles) Franz of Freeport; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who all loved her kind and gentle spirit.
Funeral Mass for Mrs. Tietjen will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 3, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Freeport. The Rev. Timothy Barr, pastor will celebrate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at the church. Burial will be at Chapel Hill memorial Gardens, Freeport.
