DeKALB – Loretta Mae Benson, 79, of DeKalb, Ill., died on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at her residence.|
Born Feb. 11, 1934, in Sycamore, the daughter of Everett and Esther (Thomas) Ebright, Loretta was married to the late Victor D. Benson on July 13, 1962 in DeKalb; he preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 2007.
Loretta worked for Brody's Coat Factory and Creative Calligraphy. Loretta loved playing Bingo. Loretta graduated from DeKalb Township High School in 1952.
Survivors include four daughters, Terrie (George) Arwood of Tennessee, Vickie Benson of North Carolina, Elizabeth "Eve" Kietzmann of Rochelle and Andrea "Anggie" (Mark) McCall of Cortland; son, Michael Benson of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Sharon (Wayne) Ollmann; and brothers, Ronnie (Sylvia) Garman and George (Dorrie) Garman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor; and brother, Cliff Fuller.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home, 310 Oak St., DeKalb, IL 60115, with the Rev. Dennis Campbell officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to the family to be established at a later date.
