DeKALB – Mary B. Lamont, 95, formerly of Kirkland, Ill., died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, in DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center. |
Born Tuesday, May 22, 1917, in Peoria, to Asa and Laura (Wilcox) Culver, she married Eldon Lamont on Saturday, July 1, 1939, in Kirkland.
Mary worked with her husband at Lamont Grocery Store in Kirkland, and at Sycamore Hospital and a driver's license facility. Mary was a member of Kirkland Methodist Church and United Methodist Women's Society.
Mary is survived by three children, Teresa (Ron) Crenshaw of Arlington Heights, Lester (Betty) Lamont of Ramsey and Doug (Jane) Lamont of Sycamore; six grandchildren, Lisa Comstock of Champaign, Lori Glasson of Glen Ellyn, Mark (Laura) Lamont of Elgin, Beth (Phil) Carbonari of Arlington Heights, Adam Crenshaw of Chicago and Tim (Cathy) Lamont of DeKalb; and 10 great-grandchildren, Cody Comstock, Samantha and Jessica Glasson, John, Ryan and Kevin Lamont, Cassy and Andrew Burright and Noah and Jonah Carbonari.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldon; sister, Nina Jarl; brother-in-law, Art Jarl; and brother, Orrin Culver.
The Lamont family would like to offer special thanks to DeKalb County Hospice and Nursing Home for their loving care and kindness.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 15, at Maple Cemetery, Kirkland.
