SYCAMORE – Mildred I. Johnson, 85, of Sycamore, Ill., died Monday, June 24, 2013, in Oak Crest DeKalb Area Retirement Center, DeKalb.|
Born Dec. 5, 1927, in Burlington, to Frank and Helen (Roberts) Chapman, Mildred graduated from Burlington High School. She married John C. Johnson on June 27, 1948, in Burlington. She was a member of Sycamore United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Richard J. (Lea Vone) Johnson of Robinson and William C. Johnson of Sycamore; four grandchildren, Paul (Cheryl) Johnson of Johnston City, Ellen (Mason) Ledesma of Elburn, William (Shelby) Johnson of Sycamore and Elizabeth (Goran) Petric of Belleville; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Campbell, Virginia (Russel) Flores, Carol (Casi) Bakey and Shirley (Mike) Hilleshiem; and brothers, Robert (Joyce) Chapman, George (Judy) Chapman, Howard (Toni) Chapman, Ennis (Virginia) Chapman and Jim (Wendy) Chapman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John C. Johnson on Feb. 28, 2004; and two brothers, Frank and Roger Chapman.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Quiram Chapels, 1245 Somonauk St., Sycamore, with the Rev. Harlene Harden officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sycamore United Methodist Church or the Burlington Methodist Church.
