GENOA – Naomi Jean "Jeanne" Romano, 82, of rural Genoa, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at her home. |
Born July 2, 1929, in Oklahoma, the daughter of Richard and Alice (Mclish) Williford, she married Charles S. Romano on Jan. 21, 1956, in Chicago; he preceded her in death in 2005.
Jeanne was a fun-loving woman who enjoyed life. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and doing puzzles in her spare time.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Romano of Genoa; two granddaughters, Ronda (Gary) Baisden of Kirkland and Nichol (Chad) Sutton of Byron; three great-grandchildren, Alexandria Baisden, Breyonna Baisden and Brandie Dalke; two step great-grandchildren, Heidi Sutton and Adam Sutton; and one step great-great-grandchild, Zander Sutton.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; daughter-in-law, Sandra Romano; and granddaughter, Naomi Landis.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 123 S. County Line Road, Maple Park, IL 60151-8024, with Fr. Dennis Morrissy, Fr. Godwin Asuquo and Fr. Alex Deltoro, concelebrating.
