ROCKFORD – Patricia L. Francis, 84, of Rockford, Ill., formerly of DeKalb, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at her home at Morning Star Village, Rockford, with her family at her bedside.|
Born March 22, 1930, in DeKalb, the daughter of John M. and Marie A. (Jospaitis) Liikala, Patricia was employed by Northern Illinois University as an administrative secretary over the years. A member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, DeKalb, she also was an avid gardener, seamstress, knitter and reader.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Nora) Olin of Hampton, Va., Kristine (Pete) Finnegan of Virginia Beach, Va., and Cathy (Larry) Sarver of Roscoe; 11 grandchildren, Kate, Erin, Michelle, Marie, Bethany, Matthew, Jamie, Megan, Daniel, Nathan and Ryan; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Terrance A. Olin, in 2012; parents; and brother, John.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 830 N. Annie Glidden Road, DeKalb, with the Rev. Dr. Blake Richter officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery, DeKalb. The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb.
