Robert M. Stadler, 49, Malta, Illinois, died suddenly July 4th at his home.

He was born July 27, 1968 in Aurora, Illinois to Richard and Patricia (Jungels) Stadler.

He graduated from West Aurora High School in 1986 and in 1997 graduated with honors from DeVry University with a bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology. He went to work for GE Healthcare immediately after graduation and has worked there since as an MRI Field Service Engineer.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in De Kalb and enjoyed working around his house in Malta and spending time with his wife and son. He also enjoyed walks with his German Shepherd who was his constant companion when he was home.

Survivors include his wife, Molly; and son, Michael, both of Malta. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia Hall of Aurora; and his sisters, Linda Hansen of Somonauk, Sandra (Bill) Stenson of Lillian, Alabama, Cheryl (Ed) Grabowski of Yorkville, Barbara Diaz of Montgomery, Linda (Neil) Leurs of Wahoo, Nebraska and Steven (Suzy) Hall of Rockford. He is also survived by nephews, Jason Steele, Ryan Fallin, Jeremy Hansen, Justin Hansen, Matthew Britt and Rodney Leurs; and niece, Amanda Strong. He also has several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Dean Stadler; his brother, Richard Dean Stadler Jr; and a nephew, Wesley Leurs of Wahoo, Nebraska.

Funeral mass will be held on Thursday July 12, 2018 at 10:30am in St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb with Father Michael Bolger officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral mass and burial of cremains will be at a later date in the St. Wendelin's Catholic Cemetery in Shannon, IL. Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 11, 2018 at 4:00pm till 7:00pm in the Finch Funeral Home, with a Scripture service at 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, a Scholarship Fund has been established for Michael Stadler at Resource Bank, Malta. An Illinois State Scholar, Michael will be attending Illinois State University in the fall.
