SYCAMORE – Ronald Wesley Abbott, 73, of Sycamore, Ill., passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at his home in Sycamore. |
Born March 26, 1940, to the late John and Ida (Eberly) Abbott Sr., in DeKalb, he was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army.
On Aug. 6, 1960, he married the love of his life, Audrey (Twadell) and moved to Sycamore. He was a member of the Sycamore American Legion.
He was employed at Anaconda in Sycamore, Breezy's Sunoco in DeKalb and retired from Arthur Andersen in St. Charles.
Ron is survived by his wife of 53 years, Audrey; daughters, Jeri (James) Taggs and Julie (Roger) Warner; grandchildren, Joshua (Amanda) Hathaway, Holly Hathaway and Chasity Warner; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh and Kristana Clark, Damien Page, Raina Hathaway and Gavin Newton; brother, William (Terri) Abbott Sr.; sisters, Gloria (Dave) Stone and Kathy Morris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lori Ann (in infancy); brothers, John Abbott Jr., Merle Abbott, Roger and Randall Abbott (in infancy); sisters, Jesse Jobe and Lois Quitno.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Butala Funeral Home and Crematory of Sycamore. Burial will be private.
