SYCAMORE – Rozine Christine "Chris" Wylde, was born Nov. 28, 1926, to John and Anna Snyder in Olathe, Colo., and passed away Sept. 9, 2012.
She met and married Jim Wylde of Sycamore when he was in the military during World War II. After the war, they settled in Sycamore when Jim joined his father at Wylde and Son, The Hardware Men.
The Wyldes lived in Sycamore and later moved to New Glarus, Wis. Chris returned to Sycamore in 1999 and built a second home in Oxford, Miss., in 2007, where she spent winters. Chris had a great vocabulary, and rarely, if ever, lost a game of scrabble.
Chris is survived by her children, Connie Hay of Oxford, Margaret Wylde (Kenneth Wooten) of Oxford, Mona Lee Wylde of North Hollywood, Calif., and John (Janice) Wylde of Clare; four grandsons, Michael (Kristin) Hay of Cary, N.C., Christopher (Gail) Hay of Jamestown, N.C., Jason (Stephanie) Wylde of Grapevine, Texas and Justin (Michele) Wylde of Hinckley; two step-granddaughters, Lisa Hankamer of Houston, Texas and Laurie (David) DuChaine of Oxford; two great-granddaughters, Allison Ciela Hay of Jamestown and Annaliesa Christine Wylde of Hinckley; and two step-great-grandsons, David Lucian DuChaine of Annapolis, Md., and Kenneth Cope DuChaine of Oxford.
Family and friends are invited to enjoy a celebration of Chris' life to be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at her home in Sycamore, 1432 Adrienne Circle.
In lieu of flowers, contribute in memory of Rozine C. Wylde to the DeKalb County Community Foundation, 2600 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL 60178. The family knows she was excited about the Sycamore Depot renovation.
