1941 - 2008 | Obituary Condolences
Wanda L. Alsup, 66, of Sycamore, Ill., went peacefully from her home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 14, 2008.
Born May 16, 1941 in Sweetwater, Tenn., she was the daughter of William and Lucille Grant. She married James Alsup on May 4, 1968, in Kirkland.
Wanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was well-known for her cooking and always amazed her family with her new recipes. She had a passion for antiques and loved doing flower arrangements and gardening with her husband. But most of all, she loved spoiling her grandchildren. She worked for Anaconda Wire and Cable Co. in Sycamore for many years.
She is survived by her loving husband, James, of Sycamore; four children, Debbie (Doug) Dittbenner of Poplar Grove, William (Trish) Pritchett of Estill Springs, Tenn., Lisa (Mike) Brooks of Belvidere and Tom (Sandy) Pritchett of Sycamore; six grandchildren, Jamie (Scott) Wheeler, Tylania Dittbenner, Ashlee Brooks, Grant Dittbenner, Elliott Pritchett and Jarrod Pritchett; one great-grandson, Griffin Wheeler; one sister, Katherine (Gary) Cook of Sycamore; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her funeral service will be Tuesday, March 18 at 11 a.m. at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore, with the Rev. Steve Persson officiating. Burial will be at Shattuck Grove Cemetery in rural Belvidere.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL 60178.
