Judith A. Knudson, 79, of Sycamore, Ill., died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 at her home.|
Born Sept. 26, 1933 in Peru, the daughter of Robert and Hilda (Nelson) Gmelich, she was married to Clarence "Smiley" Knudson.
Judy was a member at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. John and very active in the VFW Auxiliary, where she served as a former district president. She worked for the DeKalb County superintendent for many years. She enjoyed all varieties of arts and crafts and challenging herself with puzzles and sudoko.
Judy is survived by one son, Clarke (Pamala) Cubbage of DeKalb; her granddaughter, Alisha Ryan-Perez along with several dear grandchildren; one sister, Mary Jo Bassing of Sycamore; and two nieces, Robin (Jim) Boyes and Joan Bassing.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Karl "Casey" Cubbage.
Her memorial service will be on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL., with Rev. Tim J. Carr officiating.
A time for fellowship and to celebrate the life of Judy will follow the service at the Sycamore Veterans Home, 121 S. California Street in Sycamore.
