SYCAMORE – Rose M. Korleski, 82, of Sycamore, Ill., died Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center.
She was born May 27, 1931, in Kenosha, Wis., the daughter of Ambrose and Rose Gray. She soon moved to Sycamore and graduated from the Sycamore High School. She fell in love with Richard Korleski, and they married on Aug. 9, 1952, at St. Mary's Church.
Rose was an active member of the Church of St. Mary and worked as a florist in the Sycamore area for many years. Rose will be deeply missed. She was a devoted wife and caring mother who lived a long and fulfilling life.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; five children, Mark (Kim), Jennifer (Randy) Collins, Jeffery (Nancy), Cindy Steir and Christopher; six grandchildren, Elizabeth (Nick) Genard, Ryan (Summer) Collins, Alex Collins, Kathryn, Clare and Aaron Korleski; and her siblings, Mary Pearson, David (Ann) Gray, Eleanor (William) Keefe, Dolores Cook, Betty (Val) Slapansky, Angie (Robert) Dieterlen and Pat Gray.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, John "Buddy" Gray.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, at Church of St. Mary, 244 Waterman St., Sycamore, with the Rev. Paul Lipinski. Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Her visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Butala Funeral Home and Crematory of Sycamore.
