Steven Eugene "Schulzy" Schulz Obituary
Steven Eugene "Schulzy" Schulz, 23, of Sycamore passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Born March 18, 1991, in Sycamore; the son of Mike and Nona (Pospishil) Schulz. Steven was a 2009 graduate of Sycamore High School and studied at Kishwaukee College. He enjoyed working for many different companies including Insight Services, Accurate Towing, 3M, and Oak Crest Retirement Center. He was also a lifeguard at Sycamore Public Pool, had the opportunity of working for Universal Studios, and was a cast member at Walt Disney World.
Steven was a member of the Sycamore Elks club and Sycamore United Methodist Church. He loved working on cars, playing softball, playing roller hockey, driving his mini bike and Jeep, fishing, hiking, playing his harmonica, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Steven was known as the life of the party and always up for a challenge. He had a generous soul and would always help his friends. Steven was also known to greet people with a big hug.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Nona Schulz of Sycamore; sibling, Natalie Schulz of Sycamore; grandparents, Norman (Elaine) Pospishil and Carol Schulz, both of Sycamore; uncles and aunts, Joel (Deb) Plapp, Jeff Plapp, Scott (Michelle) Schulz all of Sycamore, Sherri (Tim) Watson and Laurie (Curtis) Osgood of Las Vegas, NV; and Dwayne Williams of DeKalb; cousins, Kyle and Margaret Schulz; and many friends. Predeceased by grandfather, Tom Schulz; and grandmother, Jean Pospishil.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in Sycamore United Methodist Church, 160 Johnson Ave, Sycamore, IL 60178 with Rev. GaHyung Kim officiating. Private burial at a later date in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 14, in Sycamore United Methodist Church and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15 prior to the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
