SYCAMORE – Leonard T. "Lenny" Reynolds, 69, of Sycamore, Illinois, died Monday, July 28, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family.|
Born March 29, 1945, in Oak Park, the son of Leonard T. and Eleanor (Teske) Reynolds, Sr., he married Ranell M. Kuhn on May 21, 1977, in Wheaton.
Lenny was a deputy with the DuPage County Sheriff's Office from 1968 to 1977. He was the sexton at Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore for the past 18 years. Lenny and his wife are the owners of Image Monuments and New Image Lawn Care.
Lenny had a great sense of humor, could tell a story in detail and had a way of making friends everywhere he went. His "gift of gab" and love for his family and grandsons will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Ranell of Sycamore; children, John Reynolds of West Chicago, Marci (David) Summer of Big Rock, Lenny (Elissa) Reynolds of Sycamore, and his daughter-like neice, Mandy Croy (Ian Kvapil) of DeKalb; nine grandsons, Corey (Kim), Nick, John Jr., Vinny, Jack, Dylan, Kalob, August and Lincoln; one sister, Linda Bunge of Wisconsin, and her children, Todd (Elizabeth), Sean and Jodi (Bill).
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Joseph.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 244 Waterman St., Sycamore, with the Rev. Paul Lipinski celebrating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Sycamore. The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore.
