Obituary Condolences

DeKALB – Elaine M. LeVrouw, 84, of DeKalb, Ill., died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at Shabbona Health Care Center.

She was born on April 10, 1925, in Moline, Ill., the daughter of Jack F. and Emma (Troup) Durling. She married Charles C. LeVrouw in July of 1950 in Moline.

Elaine was a graduate of Moline High School, Class of 1943. She worked as the secretary for Northshore Garden of Memories Cemetery in North Chicago for more than 25 years. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Sycamore, a two-time past president of Fleet Auxiliary, member of the VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed participating in the activities at Heritage Woods Assisted Living Center in DeKalb.

Elaine is survived by one son, Steven (Pat) LeVrouw of DeKalb; five grandchildren, Wanda (Bill) Stewart of Forreston, Ill., Belinda Wicks of Anna, Ill., Jill Roodhouse of Decatur, Ill., Chad (Denny) LeVrouw of Sycamore, Ill., and Jaclyn LeVrouw of DeKalb; seven great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Mary and Thomas J. Christensen; Jacob and Jacquelyn Roodhouse; and Paulo and Javier Solorzano-LeVrouw; one great-great-grandson, Brennan Christensen; one sister, Pat (Jack) Clough of Hayward, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles in 1996; one brother, Jack Durling, Jr.; and one sister, Sandra Foster.

Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Salem Lutheran Church, 1145 DeKalb Ave., in Sycamore, with the Rev. Dr. Janet Hunt officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Burial will take place at noon on Monday, Dec. 14, at the Northshore Garden of Memories Cemetery in North Chicago.
