Timothy Thomas Getzelman, 21, of Sycamore, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, as the result of an automobile accident.|
He came into this world at 13.4 pounds and 22 inches long on March 22, 1989, in St. Charles, the son of Ted D. and Tamara J. (Schroeder) Getzelman. Tim was a graduate of the Sycamore High School, class of 2007.
Tim lived life huge and he worked and played hard. He was goal oriented and had a great work ethic. He loved his family and friends, serving his community in various ways. He was tech savvy with pictures and videos. He loved to play!
He had a huge heart, was very generous and had a great personality. He was creative in story telling and artistry. Tim was quick-witted and could make you laugh until your face hurt and tears ran down your face.
Tim was an intern firefighter for the Sycamore Fire Department and worked as a dairy farmer. He was a dear friend and very caring person. He continued to help people by being a tissue donor.
Tim is survived by his parents, Ted and Tamara Getzelman of Sycamore; two sisters, Emily Getzelman of Sycamore and Robin Getzelman of Palatine; maternal grandparents, James and Sallie Schroeder of Kingston; two aunts, Kristie (Walter) Mulso of Kingston and Corinne Haberstitch of Kirkland; two uncles, Jeff (Tani) Getzelman of Wisconsin and Kurt (Dana) Getzelman of Burlington; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Don and Shirley Getzelman; and one uncle, Dennis Haberstitch.
His funeral service will be at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at the Salem Lutheran Church, 1145 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, with Rev. Michael Morell officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday at the church.
