DeKALB - David Junior Allison, 68, of DeKalb, Ill., died Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb.

He was born May 22, 1945, in Richland Center, Wis. The son of Tom Allison and Agnes (Denman) Burns. He married Linda Stanard on July 6, 1968, in Genoa.

David worked for Barber-Greene/Caterpillar in DeKalb, retiring after 35 years of service. He was very friendly to all people and would compliment them to see them smile. His love for music ranged from 1970s to country music and he was always listening to tunes while taking his walks in town or mowing his grass.

He earned a first degree black belt in karate and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Allison of DeKalb; two daughters, Brenda (James) Butz of DeKalb and Sarah (Brent) Bell of Rochelle; his mother, Agnes Burns of Iowa; six grandchildren, Samuel Butz, Isaac Bell, Kaitlyn Bell, Joshua Butz, Timothy Butz and Kelsie Bell; four sisters, Donna (Ray) Mancillas, Diana "Jodi" Allison, Debra (John) Klemm and Debbie Wagner; his brother-in-law, Dean Lundgren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Allison; his step-father, Lester Burns, who raised him with his mother; and one sister, Darlene Lundgren.

His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore, with the Rev. Mark Foster officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Pleasant Ridge-Willow Cemetery, Richland Center, Wis.

His visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Butala Funeral Home, Sycamore.
