DeKALB – Morgan J. Chaney, 26, of DeKalb, Ill., died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at her home.|
She was born June 10, 1987, in DeKalb, the daughter of Stephen A. and Melinda (McClure) Chaney.
Morgan received her associates degree from Kishwaukee College and her Bachelor of Art degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising from Northern Illinois University.
She was employed at Panduit Corp. in DeKalb as a logistics specialist and worked at Maurices in DeKalb as a fashion merchandise associate.
Morgan was a beautiful vivacious person. She cared about her friends and family with a passion and was always there when needed. She was a devoted daughter and sister, also being kind and considerate. She enjoyed life: gatherings with family and friends, a variety of sports, bowling, dancing, photography and fashion.
Survivors include her parents, Stephen and Melinda Chaney of Shabbona; two brothers, Nathan (Angela) Chaney of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Matthew Chaney of DeKalb; aunts and uncle, Cynthia K. Chaney of DeKalb, Susan Lynn (Michael) Sheets of Portland, Ore., and Terry (Jeanette) McClure of Seattle, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Her visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore, with a funeral service beginning at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Daniel Diss officiating. Burial will be private.
