Lee, Bessie H. - Upper Fruitland  
Bessie Hemstreet Lee was born on Oct. 30, 1927, in Upper Fruitland to Jay Willie and Luiclle (Eldrigdge) Hemstreet. Bessie passed away in Farmington on April 24, 2015, surrounded by her family. Bessie loved weaving, and a lot of her weaving went to Dr. De Kay. She loved to be working on her farm. She was the best when it came to her home cooking. She enjoyed reading her bible and going to Arizona to the revivals. Bessie was married to Clyde E. Barber for 25 years. Then she married Ben Lee for four years before his death. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Lee; parents, Jay Willie and Lucille Hemstreet; son, Johnny Barber; daughter, Irene Jim; brother, Stephen Hemstreet; and sister, Margaret Johnson. She is survived by her son, Wilson Jim, sisters, Minnie Hemstreet, Elsie Whitey-Bekis and Elouise Cecil, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Desert View Church in Upper Fruitland with pastor James Fredy officiating. Pallbearers are Lorenzo Whitey, Greg Yazzie, Titus Howard, Jeffery Hemstreet, Waylon Jim and Marvin Padilla. Honorary pallbearers are Michael D. Benally Jr. and Nathaniel Howard. Ledford, Mae - Ignacio  
Mae Ledford, 93, has victory over death and is face to face with the Lord Jesus Christ on April 20, 2015, in Ignacio, Colo. She was born May 24, 1921, in Waterflow, to Charlie and Ruth Ledford. She was the first of 13 children. She married Wesley Mace in 1937, and had eight children, then later married Delton Ream and had three more children. She was a wife and homemaker who raised all of her 11 children no matter how many hardships or life circumstances that she was presented with. She loved gardening and growing flowers and raising chickens at her house in Aztec. Later in life she loved to see family, read and grow her flowers. When she was young, she and her brothers would ride horses across the New Mexico desert. Before she died, she wanted to ride with her brothers once again, now she can. She is preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, Wesley Mace and her husband of 20 years, Delton Ream; her oldest daughter Dolores Giles; her second youngest daughter Nancy Ream; and grandchild Savonna Ream. She is survived by her children, Doris Allen of Grand Junction, Colo.; Harlan Mace of Roswell; Donna Dennington and Rebecca Neeley of Aztec; Debra Pursley, Delta Demain and Elvis Ream of Ignacio; Linda Mace of Los Oso, Calif.; 33 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
