Riddle, Claudine (Maxwell) - Farmington  
Claudine Riddle, 95, of Farmington, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015, in Farmington. She was born April 22, 1920, in Coryell County, Texas, to James Maxwell and Jessie Dossey. Claudine was born into a Texas sharecropper's family. By working hard her whole life, she would become a successful Realtor and political activist in the state of New Mexico. Claudine had two children, Dick Riddle and Linda Riddle; four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Riddle; her brother, Basil Maxwell; her sister, Hazel Maxwell; her daughter, Linda Riddle; and her great-grandson, Bobby Riddle. Claudine will be remembered by the community for her advocacy work among the Navajo people. Her family and friends will cherish the memories she left behind of her no-nonsense attitude and fiery temperament that allowed her to accomplish her goals no matter how long the odds. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday June 5 at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home in Farmington. Services for Claudine will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 211 W. 20th St. in Farmington, with pastor Steve Ballew officiating. A private interment will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington. Claudine's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688. Russey, Alma Jo - Farmington  
Alma Jo Russey, 88, of Farmington, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2015, in Farmington. She was born March 17, 1927, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Lucy Snow and Emmett Wright. Jo graduated from Wichita Falls High in Wichita Falls, Texas. Jo married the love of her life, Wade Russey, on Nov. 12, 1946, in Henrietta, Texas. They were married 68 and one-half years. They had two daughters. She had several different jobs in her earlier years working for the telephone company, a photography shop and babysitting, and working side by side with Wade in the family pharmacy. Jo and Wade moved to Farmington from Lubbock, Texas, in May 1959, where they opened a pharmacy. Jo was an avid bridge player and loved all types of games. She loved spending time with her grandkids. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Jo was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Janice Moore. She is survived by her husband, Wade R. Russey; her daughter, Janet Key (Larry) Cordell, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service for Alma will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 1 at Cope Memorial Chapel in Farmington with pastor Edward Rousset officiating. There will be a private family graveside service to be held at a later date. Our thanks to the Gingerich Home for the elderly for the excellent care she received there the last two and one-half years of her life. Our thanks also to Sandy with Basin Home Health.
