Albert Kneale Foutz, 88, of Kirtland, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014, in Aztec. He was born on Aug. 4, 1925, to Jesse Jerome Foutz and Clara (Ashcroft) Foutz in Fruitland.
Kneale served in the U.S. Navy
in the Seabee Division as a heavy equipment operator in the South Pacific during World War II
. On Aug. 30, 1947, Kneale married the love of his life, Mary Irene Crandall. Throughout his life, Kneale pursued his passion of training race horses with Irene at his side.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Foutz.
Kneale is survived by his sons, Michael (Susan) Foutz of Kirtland, and Blane (Mary Ann) Foutz of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; daughters, Beverly (Jimmy) Barnes of Aztec, Roberta (Steve) Rutland of Hyde Park, Utah, and Marie (Will) Norris of Turley; sister, Lavina Crockett of Logan, Utah; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 479 County Road 6100 in Kirtland. Interment to follow at Kirtland Cemetery.
