Farmington resident A. Kathleen "Kay" Wilson died Oct. 19, 2012. She was 88 years old.
Born January 25, 1924 in Dunsford, Ontario, Canada, she married Haddon Wilson in Toronto, Canada, on Sept. 7, 1946. They came to the United States in 1953. The Wilson's moved to Durango from New Jersey in 1971, where they owned the Silver Spur Motel and Restaurant until 1977. In 1979 they moved to Farmington and were very active in local business and community affairs.
Kathleen was a past president of the Four Corners Federated Republican Women and a former volunteer at the Farmington Museum. They are members of the First United Methodist Church in Farmington.
She is survived by her husband; son, Steve, of Flora Vista and his son, Tim; daughter, Carol McLaughlin and husband, Troy, of Durango, Colo. and their children, Beth and Morgan; daughter, Deb Wiepz and husband, Greg of Edgerton, Wis. and their children, Kimie, Jamie and Becky and son, Robert and his wife, Lynne, of Sarasota, Fla.
A service will be 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, at Alternative Choice, 804 Dustin Ave. in Farmington.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Northwest New Mexico Hospice and Home Care.
