Bruce Wayne Compton, 64, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013. He was born March 28, 1949, to Fred Raymond Compton, Sr. and Vera Mae Williams in Tulare, Calif.
Bruce entered the U.S. Army
in 1967 doing two tours in Vietnam as a "Point Man," with his German Shepherd at his side. Bruce was a talented man who could play the piano, organ and guitar by ear. He was a friend to all and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He worked as a Master Plumber, owning his own business and teaching his children the trade.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. He was a devoted husband to Bonnie Gaye Kennedy Compton; a loving father to daughter, Brenda (Mark) Neilson; sons, Darren (Brenda), Shannon (Natalee) and Chris Compton; stepson, Boyd Kennedy; and his sister, Anna Berton. He loved all of his 13 grandchildren, as well as his special pets, Scamp, Coco, Babydoll, Puda, Birdie and Pepé.
Services for Bruce will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 400 W. Apache, with burial following at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
