Charles F. "Chuck" Nielson

Charles F. "Chuck" Nielson, of Lindrith, passed away on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012. He was born Oct. 7, 1937, in Monroe, Utah to the late R.G. and Bertha Nielson.
He earned a B.S. degree in Sociology from Brigham Young University. He had a 33-year career with Texas Instruments with the last eight serving as corporate vice president responsible for worldwide human resources before retiring in 1998.
Chuck was an appointee to President George H. Bush's 1998 Drug Advisory Council, a fellow of the National Academy of Human Resources, and a carrier of the Olympic torch for the 2002 Olympic Games.
He was also a recipient of the Society for Human Resource Management Award for Professional Excellence in 1997 and was involved in numerous community organizations in Lindrith. He is survived by his wife, Jean Nielson, of Lindrith; two sons, Jon (Tami) Nielson, of Floydada, Texas and Michael Nielson, of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren Crystal (David) Rae, of Lubbock, Texas and Seth Nielson, of Floydada, Texas; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret "Meg" Nielson, of Monroe, Utah and Christine (David) Anderson, of Las Vegas, Nev. and brother, Lee R. (Connie) Nielson, of Richfield, Utah.
A memorial service for Charles F. "Chuck" Nielson will be 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, at the Lindrith Baptist Church.
