Clorinda Tafoya, our beloved mother and inspiration, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday morning, March 29, 2014. Clorinda was born Oct. 7, 1938, in Monero, to Bernabe and Elvira Salazar.
Clorinda resided in Farmington, since 1968. Clorinda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, inspiring and instilling each life she touched with her morals, faith, strength and abundant love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Aureliano, son Michael Tafoya, brother Mel Salazar.
She is survived by her two sons: Tommy (Sheryl) Tafoya, Abe (Jeanette) Tafoya and three daughters; Diana Hall, Donna (Alex) Chacon, Eleanor Tafoya and Joe Baca. Her grandchildren Jimmy Tafoya, Curtis Hall, Elisha Johnson, Yvette Lara, Sierra Nelson, Christina McClure, Michael Chacon, Angelo Chacon, Crystal Merrifield, Maria Schoch and Daniel Martinez, great-grandchildren Marissa and Steven Tafoya, Marissa, Dominick, Gabrial and Lillian Hall, Kaiden and Ellie Johnson, Marcus, Jalynn and Iliana Lara, Haley McClure and Brenton Barton.
Her brothers Joe, Amarante, Toby, Leonard, Keith; sisters Lucy, Sally and Arelene.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, at Cope Memorial Chapel, in Farmington.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 2100 E. 20th St. in Farmington. The celebrant will be Father Chacon.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Bloomfield.
