DeAndria Kaysi "Annie" Benally, 34, was called home by our Heavenly Father on May 14, 2014. Annie was born Feb. 18, l980, in Shiprock, to Donna Denetchee and Fred Benally.
Annie attended schools in Farmington and graduated from Farmington High School in 1998. She worked as a store manager at Auto Zone in Farmington and Aztec until 2010. Annie was also a loving mother to a beautiful daughter, DreAwna. She was a wonderful aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Annie had numerous friends and shall be remembered as a person who was strong, generous, thoughtful and with a big heart. She always had a great sense of humor, always finding humor in the unlikeliest situations. She lived life to the fullest. She impacted so many people with her vibrant personality.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fred A. Benally. She is survived by her daughter, DreAwna Sue Sylvester; mother, Donna Sue Denetchee; step-father, Dan Denetchee; sisters, JaSara Benally and Desbie Begay; step-sister, Charmayne Cunningham; brother, Seth Benally; step-brothers, Noel Denetchee, Adrian Denetchee, Ryan Denetchee and Shawn Denetchee; nephews, Phabion Begay, Drake Chavez and Desmond Begay; nieces, Amyah, Dakotah, Presley, Dazell, Selah and her very special youngest niece, Lil Desbie; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as her many friends.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, at the World Harvest Center, 1024 N. Butler Ave. in Farmington. Interment will follow in Shiprock Community Cemetery. She will be laid to rest next to her father. Reception will be held at the Shiprock Chapter House.
Pallbearers are Seth Benally, Phermond Begay, Ruebin Dunson, Ben DePriest, Andrew
Arellanez, Brandon Bumby, Ryan Denetchee and Destry DePriest. Alternative pallbearers are Robin Benally, Donovan Collette, Dallas Collette and Bradley Collette. Honorary pallbearers are Donald DePriest Jr., Leonard Benally, Joe Benally, Noel Denetchee, Adrian Denetchee and Shawn Denetchee.
Daughters always hold a special place in our lives. Annie exemplified a beautiful life, leaving beautiful memories in the short time she was here. This is how we will always remember her. We love and will miss our beautiful Annie.
