Dolores O. Wright, beloved sister, aunt, mother and grandmother passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 in North Richland Hills, Texas. Dolores Laws was born in Glen Cove, Texas on Aug. 31, 1926 to Randolph Hearst and Ola Strange Laws.
She grew up and attended school in Coleman. She married John Wright and moved to Bloomfield, in 1953. Dolores returned to college as an adult and earned her teaching certification. She taught language arts at the middle and high school level. She was loved by her students and maintained a close-knit group of teachers she socialized with often.
Dolores was an avid reader and loved to travel.
In 2008 she lost her beloved son, Jim to a heart attack. Around this same time she had back surgery that left her in chronic pain and unable to maintain the active lifestyle she loved.
In May 2010 she moved to North Richland Hills, Texas to be near family. Although her activities were limited, she made friends at the Wellington in North Richland Hills and passed many hours giggling with her niece and sister.
Dolores was preceded in death by her mother, Nola Strange Trewitt; son, James Wright and her cousin, Lorena Payne.
She is survived by her sister, Maudine Laws Goodman and husband, Don; niece, Carole Kimbrough and fiancé, Courtney Carroll; nephews, The Rev. Doctor Steve Sellers and wife, Dixie, Paul Sellers; cousins, Jody Payne and wife, Lori, Gary Payne and wife, Carolyn; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Dolores' family would also like to extend our heart-felt thanks to Tobi Jackson, Arlene and Able Baldazo, the staffs of American Senior Home Health and Advanced Hospice for making her last weeks as comfortable as possible.
Memorial Service will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, at First Baptist Church, in Coleman, Texas.
