Harold O. Hartman(1936 - 2014)

Harold O. Hartman, 78, of Bloomfield, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2014, in Farmington. He was born March 30, 1936, in Lehigh County, Pa., to Paul Hartman and Ellen Reppert.
Harold left us unexpectedly, and we can only assume it's because the fishing is good in heaven this season. Harold was our gem and our rock, as dearly loved husband, dad, brother, grandpa and friend.
Harold was extraordinarily proud of his service to our country, first within the United States Marine Corps, and then the U.S. Air Force. He held his fellow servicemen in highest esteem throughout his life. He will be buried among his brothers-in-arms at the Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Semper fidelis! His military training carried over into his home as a no-nonsense father, but more importantly his kids never doubted his love, protection, and support. Childhood memories revolve around hunting, fishing, camping and playing games.
He was retired from Public Service of New Mexico.
Later in life, Harold's heart was captured by Marlene. They instantly became inseparable companions for life. They could be found competing on Navajo Lake for most fish caught, or dancing to country music in their living room, or playing cards in their camper while on vacation. Marlene took him on an unrelenting journey of antique collecting, but he conquered shop after shop without complaint. His companionship and affection will be dearly missed.
Harold is survived by his wife Marlene Hartman; son Michael (Jhoy) Hartman; daughters, Sandra (Dennis) Taylor and Debra (Bruce) Nameth; step-daughters, Lori (Mike) Sauk and Christine Shea; his mother, Ellen Reppert; brothers, Donald Hartman and Norman Reppert; sisters, Betty Anicola, Dawn Reppert, Gene Moore and Darlene Dittrick; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 13, at Alternative Choice Chapel, in Farmington.
Harold's care is entrusted to Alternative Choice, 804 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington, 505-325-9611. Those who wish to express their condolences may do so at www.serenityandcompany.com.
