Haskell Duane Rosebrough

Haskell Duane Rosebrough, 85, died Jan. 5, 2013, at Pikes Peak Hospice surrounded by his wife and children, after several years of battling Alzheimers. He was a long-time resident of Farmington, but was born May 23, 1927 in St. Louis, Okla., the son of Haskell D. Rosebrough and Blanche Jordan.
After graduating from Deming High School, he served in the US Navy
during the final months of World War II
(In his seventies, he was participating in a fashion show and was able to still wear his Navy uniform.)
In 1948 he graduated from University of New Mexico with a BA and in 1951. He was in the second graduating law class from UNM. In 1994 he received a Distinguished Achievement Award from the Law School. His practice specialized in wills, trusts and probates.
Haskell was physically active in his 50's, 60's, 70's and beyond. He finished 8 marathons and participated in many triathalons. He loved running, walking, climbing, backpacking and dancing. He was active in the Kiwanis Club and the New Mexico Bar Association.
He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Ada (Hair) Rosebrough; son, Robert Rosebrough and wife, Brenda; daughter, Alice Franey and husband, Bob; and daughter, Stacy Kluckman and husband, Patrick. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Sarah and husband, Scott Ward and great-grandchild, Audrey; Mary Rosebrough and wife, Sara Sweeney, Mark Rosebrough, Kelly Kluckman, Megan Rosebrough, Ian Kluckman, Luke Franey, Amy Rosebrough and Hugh Kluckman.
A private family gathering will be held in Colorado Springs on Jan. 19, with a scattering of ashes ceremony this summer in New Mexico. Donations can be made to the Colorado Mountain Club, 710 Tenth St., Suite 200, Golden, CO 80401.
