James T. Burns, 80, of Farmington, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, in Farmington. He was born July 28, 1932, in Eden, Miss., to Nancy Elizabeth Peterson and James Emit Burns.
James served four years in the U.S. Navy
during the Korean War
. He was a premier auto body paint man for over 40 years. He was a talented craftsman who built boats, model airplanes and several other woodwork projects. He also enjoyed sailing, biking, hiking and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Burns; his parents, Nancy and James Burns.
James is survived by his wife, Charlotte Burns; sons, Darrell burns, Scott (Cathy) Burns; daughters, Nancy Johnson, Dana Ann (Ron) Anderson and Pamela Faye (Ray) Johnson; ten grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for James will be 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home.
A grave side service will be 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, at Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington.
Pallbearers are Darrell Burns, Scott Burns, Ron Anderson, Jason Johnson, Chad Burns and Rex Farnsworth.
Honorary Pallbearers are Kris Burns, Andy Curry and Kevin Johnson.
Memorials may be made to San Juan Wildlife Federation.
