Leroy Baker, 50, of Bloomfield, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington. Leroy was born Aug. 13, 1963, in Otis, the son of Andrew A. Baker Sr. and Elouise Baker.
He attended Bloomfield elementary schools and two years of high school. He later attended school at South High in Salt Lake City, Utah. Leroy was in the job corps in Albuquerque in 1985 and received his GED and welding certificate and also attended San Juan College where he learned to weld. Leroy also worked at American Equipment manufacturing in Aztec. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
Leroy was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Andy Baker Sr. a brother Phillip Lee Baker and grandparents Francis and Bessie Norberto.
Leroy leaves behinds his wife Sharon Begay Baker; sons Shawn Baker, Taron K. Yazzie and Michael Baker; daughters Michelle Baker Delegarito and Jerene A. Yazzie; his mother Elouise Baker; brothers Andrew A. Baker, Jr. and Milton Baker; sisters Rosie Largo and Norma L. Baker; two grandchildren and many friends.
Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St., in Farmington.
Funeral services for Leroy will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, at the Bloomfield Assembly of God Church, 211 E. Oak St. in Bloomfield, with Pastor Leroy Benally officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Michael D. Baker, Nikki J., Bryan Norberto, Tyler Largo, Milton Baker and Paul Garcia.
Honorary pallbearers are Michelle Delegarito, Shawn A. Baker and Andrew Baker Jr.
