Luis F. Lucero(1944 - 2014)

Luis F. Lucero, 70, a resident of Farmington, passed from this life early Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Luis was born Jan. 11, 1944 in Grants, New Mexico the son of Patricio Lucero and Carmen Garcia Lucero. He was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Farmington and was a 3rd and 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus. Luis was also a member of Union Local #16. He will be remembered for his sensitivity, gentleness, intelligence, shy smile, and the extreme joy he brought into our lives. He will be deeply missed.
Luis leaves behind his beloved wife Rosalita Sena Lucero; sons Patricio Lucero and wife Sally, Roman Lucero and wife Terri; Luis Lucero, Jr., Frankie Lucero and Manuel Lucero; daughters Julie, Georgia and Jessica; brother Leo Lucero; sister Patricia Pruitt; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Patricio and Carmen Lucero and a grandson Adrian Jaramillo.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, Feb. 18, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2100 E. 20th St. in Farmington.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2100 E. 20th St. in Farmington, with Father Frank Chacon as celebrant.
Luis will then be taken to Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 East Main in Farmington for burial.
Pallbearers are Luis' grandsons, Dominique Lucero, Roman Lucero Jr., Lawrence Lucero, Timothy Jaramillo, Bryon Jaramillo, Aaron Lucero, Manuel Araiza and Diego Moreno.
Honorary pallbearers are Lloyd Lucero, Danny DeVargas, David Apodaca, Jose Lopez, Ruben Sena, Leroy Martinez, Ricky Maestas, Leo Lucero Jr., Cruz Aguirre, and Steven Lucero.
