Vicki Ione Peterson Moffitt, 56, a resident of Bloomfield, left this life and returned to her heavenly home on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013. Vicki was born Oct. 17, 1957, in Helena, Mont., the daughter of Charles "Chuck" Edward Peterson and Elaine Maughan Peterson.
Vicki worked hard all of her life caring for her children, grandchildren and her many animals. She loved to garden and to camp out in this beautiful country. Vicki attended Farmington High School and earned an associate degree from San Juan College, where she was usually enrolled for "just one more class." Vicki had such a kind heart and tried to take care of anyone who needed her. She always put other's needs ahead of her own, most of the time forgetting to take care of herself.
Vicki was preceded in death by her grandparents, Owen and Ione Maughan, Cecil and Hazeldot Peterson, and one stillborn son.
She leaves behind her children, Sean Moffitt and Holly Clenin; grandchildren, Alex Peterson, Bryttnie Clenin, Michael, Michala, Matthew and Tyler Peterson-Goss; parents, Charles and Elaine Peterson; brother, C. Glen Peterson; sisters, Pati (Mark) Bettale, Lori (Jerry) Williams and Heather Manus; cousins; nieces; nephews and friends.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial celebration of Vicki's life will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 804 W. Blanco Blvd. in Bloomfield, with Bishop Hank Starr conducting.
Vicki's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688. Those who wish to express their condolences may do so at www.serenityandcompany.com.
