Our loving brother, uncle, nephew and friend Delbert "Roach" or "Jumbie" entered through the pearly gates of heaven. He was born in Shiprock to Genova and Woody Martin. He was a kind-hearted, caring and loving man. He was greatly known for his love and devoted attention to his niece, Kayla, and two nephews, Dakotah and Nicholas.

He loved traveling, exploring new places, fishing, gardening and watching the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR races. Jimmy Johnson was his favorite driver.
Delbert proudly served as a firefighter for many years with the Kayenta Fire Department, in Kayenta, Ariz.
Delbert is survived by his sisters, Tina Clitso of Farmington and Diana Martin of Farmington; his niece, Kayla Sherlock; nephews, Dakotah and Nicholas Sherlock of Farmington; his aunt and uncle; his adopted parents, Mary and Bill Smith of Shiprock; and cousins/adopted siblings, Theresa Smith of Chandler, Ariz., Bill Smith Jr. of Shiprock, Cynthia Smith of Shiprock, Michael Smith of Farmington, Christine Smith of Shiprock and Joseph Smith of Shiprock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Genova and Woody Martin of Shiprock. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 3, at Desert View Funeral Home Chapel in Shiprock.
Interment will follow in Shiprock Community Cemetery.
