Krista Karee Tagge

1974 - 2014

Krista Karee Tagge was born Dec. 14, 1974, in Ft. Morgan, Colo. Our hearts are heavy as she flew away to the heavens on Friday, March 21, 2014, after a 20 year battle with Lupus, with the H1N1 virus ultimately overtaking her lungs and heart. Her 39 years here on earth was not long enough for any of us. Her mind and soul were tenacious, but her little body just couldn't keep up!
Krista graduated from Farmington High School in 1993, and went to San Juan College for one year. She then continued her education and graduated in Boulder, Colo., from Travel Agency school. Krista was a dedicated, hard-working mother, who always made sure her son would be provided for, no matter what. She was a year and a half away from her retirement with Bank of America. Her "family" at the bank will miss her dearly.
Krista loved being a mother, and was blessed with her son, Elijah, 9 years ago. The very best years of Krista's entire life was spent with her dear son. She lived her life for him every single day, and he was the brightest life in her life. May he go on to honor his mother's memory by keeping her light shining brightly. Elijah's presence always made Krista radiate with joy.
Krista had an amazing energy, shared with many friends. Her smile was contagious. She loved to sing karaoke and dance her heart out. Krista made the Tagge "sistah's" complete. She is survived by her oldest sister, Karla and niece Skye, and her older sister, J.J, husband Tony, nephew Hunter, and niece Madyson. Krista was the gentle one with a fierce protective side to her. She had the most contagious laugh of anyone we know, and her smile would light up the room. She definitely wins "most photogenic" out of the three sisters. Krista took a backseat to things for so long before she stood her ground. And, when she did, she let you know just where you stood with her. Krista was strong, and she fought valiantly until the very end. We were sisters three, always standing up for one another, always stronger together! We will be bonded forever more! To be loved in this life as we have, is a gift. Krista is of one of the brightest we have ever known, only to be put out before her time. God, we will miss you, Krista! She will be so missed by all her friends.
Krista was a beautiful, gentle daughter and her mom Barbara Ives, dad Jon Tagge and step-mom Tish, will miss her so, so, so much. Words cannot describe their pain in losing Krista. Our loss has been heaven's gain. We will cherish all the memories of a lifetime together, and forever honor the gift of life each day for her! Krista was loved by her aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. We will wake up every morning still loving you, Krista Karee.
There will be a memorial service for our Krista at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at Piñon Hills Community Church, 5101 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington.
